Chamber membership matters to your business and to the community.

    Testimonials from our members:

R & D Electric, Inc. has been a part of Madisonville for 45 years, and it has always been involved with the Chamber of Commerce. Having served on the board two different times, I know first-hand how involved and important the Chamber is to its members and the community at large. The Chamber is like any organization: the more you put in, the more you will get out. – Mike Tomblinson, past president of R & D Electric and owner of Commercial Real Estate Management, Madisonville

The local Chamber of Commerce is the heartbeat of activity and resources for the community’s retailers and service providers.  With its many connections, the Chamber can help individual businesses solve problems with information that would be unavailable otherwise.  If business members utilize the Chamber’s resources and also connect through the Chamber with other businesses and clients, they will easily see why the Chamber matters. – Kent Waide, president of Ruby Concrete Company, Madisonville

In May 1994, I purchased the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Madisonville. That summer, I joined the Chamber and also signed up to be on the retail business committee. Chamber membership is a high priority for me, because it has allowed me to market my business without spending any additional money.  Every committee meeting, every Chamber After Hours, every ribbon cutting allows me the opportunity to meet people and let them know who I am and what business I own. These personal interactions cost me nothing but my time, and are the best advertising I could possibly do. The Chamber also runs interference for the business community on issues that are not “user friendly” to us and promotes us when we don’t have the time or money to promote ourselves. It also gives me an outlet to express my opinions on quality of life issues that affect our community through questionnaires and public meetings. As a retail business, the Chamber’s continued support of the Holiday Open House and Chamber Checks are invaluable. Also, meeting other like-minded business people, some of whom have become mentors to me, has been the greatest Chamber membership asset. – Sharon Smith, owner of Merle Norman Cosmetics Studio, Madisonville
